Winter Wonderland – Ice Queen loses!
Mayor of Newry and Mourne District Council, Charlie Casey joins Darren Rice, The Ring of Gullion Officer and local events organiser Sharon Carroll to welcome families to the Ring of Gullion’s Winter Wonderland 2011.
The day out was organised by NMDC as part of the Ring of Gullion Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Management Plan to encourage enjoyment of the area.
Local events organizer Sharon Carroll from Enspire ensured it was an experience not to be forgotten as she lead the bespoke event and thrilled the kids with a unique mix of nature, fairytales and the Big Man from the North Pole.
Mayor Charlie Casey said, “This was a great days fun, all the kids and parents enjoyed it. Sharon was enthusiastic as usual and made the day very memorable!”
Darren Rice of Newry and Mourne Council said, “The children and parents did a great job finding all the charms in the forests of Slieve Gullion, we couldn’t have wakened Santa from the Ice Queen’s spell without them!”
