Giant Adventures – Footsteps in the Forest & Wake the Giant

Newry, Mourne and Down District is full of Giant Adventures this month as the region plays host to two new free and Festivals, WAKE THE GIANT in Warrenpoint and FOOTSTEPS IN THE FOREST at Slieve Gullion Forest Park.
Both two day events feature myths, magic and theatrical flair which will enthral visitors to the coastal village of Warrenpoint, Co Down and the breath-taking Slieve Gullion Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Poetry Society’s National Poetry Competition Now Open

There are ten monetary prizes to be won through this year's annual National Poetry Competition.

Original poetry entries are welcome from across the world for this year's National Poetry Competition. The competition is one of Britain's top single poem competitions. Each poem entered is judged anonymously. This competition is administered by the Poetry Society; a charity that champions British poetry both at home and overseas.

Slieve Gullion Forest Park Scoops Top Award

The NI4kids Family Awards were held on 27th June in Belfast City Hall. Cool FMs Gareth Stewart hosted the glitzy movie themed ceremony with paparazzi, popcorn and red carpets. The awards were started five years ago in honour of all the amazing places and people who put families with young children first. After hundreds of nominations from across the country were submitted, and a tense judging period the winners were announced.

Sport NI – Active Awards – Small Grants Programme Now Open

Active Awards is an exchequer funded small grants programme primarily aimed at grassroots community based sport. The programme aims to prioritise investment in sports clubs, community groups and governing bodies of sport, especially those based in areas of greatest need that will deliver increases in sports participation amongst the identified target groups.
