Mullaghbane Riverwalk Project

Newry Mourne and Down District Council through the Ring of Gullion Partnership Team are working with St Mary’s Primary School and the Mullaghbane Community on the repair and enhancement of the riverwalk in the village.

Oliver Hearty and Sons have being appointed to remove and replace damaged boardwalks and steps along the riverwalk. The work is planned to start on the 8th June and will be finished by the end of June. At times, the riverwalk may be closed to facilitate repairs and maintain social distancing. We ask for the communities patience over this time.

The Ring of Gullion Partnership Team have being working with the school and local people to gather information and stories around the village and the river. This information will be used to create 4 stories recorded with local children for a speaking post which will be located at the start of the riverwalk. If you have visited Camlough Lake, you will find an example of a speaking post there.
