Launch of the 2019 Moth International Short Story Prize

The Moth International Short Story Prize is receiving entries in the form of unpublished, original short stories from short story writers at any stage in their careers.

The Moth International Short Story Prize supports the work of short story writers through monetary awards and writing retreat opportunities.

The competition also includes the publication of award winning work, giving the writers in question a creative platform for their work.

The first prize is a monetary award worth €3,000. The second prize will be a week-long writing retreat at Circle of Misse in France (this prize includes a sum of €250 for the purposes of covering travel costs). The third prize is a monetary sum of €1,000.

The prize winning stories will also be published in The Moth.

This competition is open to anybody aged 18 and over who wishes to submit an original, previously unpublished short story. Applicants may submit as many stories as they wish. Entrants may be based anywhere in the world.
