First Ring of Gullion Ambassador to receive Blue Badge Status

The Ring of Gullion Landscape Partnership are delighted that the first of their Ambassadors is now a Blue Badge Tour Guide as per requirement set down by “Tour Guides Northern Ireland”.

Anne Fearon was amount the first group to be trained in the new level 4 tour guiding qualification. The level 4 in Higher Education offers the highest level of qualification for professional tour guiding currently available in Northern Ireland and is only available at Belfastmet.

This course is validated by Ulster University and has been developed alongside Tourism NI and the professional association, Tour Guides NI, in response to tourist industry demands for professionally qualified tour guides.   The qualification in delivered on a part-time basis over 18 months. Ann has joined with other Gullion Ambassadors to set up a tour group and they will be offering bespoke tours and would be keen to work with the local hotels, b&b, glamping sites, and bus companies.
