Exhibition Launched – Photography Competition

The winners of this years’ Ring of Gullion Photography Competition joined Mayor John McArdle and Deputy Mayor Patrick McDonald in Newry Arts Centres’ Bell Gallery to launch the exhibition which runs until 22nd October.

The Council would like to give a huge thank you to this years sponsors, Slieve Gullion Springs Spa in Mullaghbane and Rascals Laser Quest on the Dublin Road. Mayor John McArdle presented the first prizes to Olivia Trainer, and under 14s winner Chris Downey.

Darren Rice, Ring of Gullion Officer said, “Many thanks to everyone who took part. The six winning pictures perfectly reflect this year’s theme; Wet and Wild in the Ring of Gullion, and of course this year’s summer helped with that theme.” And he continued, “Maybe next year we could have the theme Hot and Dry!”

You can view the entrants and find out much more about the Ring of Gullion by visiting and follow the Ring of Gullion on Facebook to keep up to date on what’s happening.
