Council call on Von Merkel to investigate suspected ‘Dragon Footprints’

Slieve Gullion is once again at the centre of controversy this week following the council’s decision to bring in expert help.

Since the initial discovery of a large footprint at Slieve Gullion, International Monster Specialists  – The Weird and Wonderful Inspector Team (TWWIT’s) have been excavating the area in search for any additional clues as to what created the original footprint impression. In a bizarre find, the TWWIT’s actually discovered some bones, which they believe to be those of a dragon-like species.

Although they cannot yet be certain as to what animal the bone has come from, Head Researcher at the TWWIT’s, Professor Von Merkel, does have a strong suspicion that it could be a dragon; “My first thoughts are of a Transilvainian Dragon, one of the largest species that ever roamed the planet”.

Due to the unusual subject matter, the Professor is particularly excited about the dig, claiming: “Here we have the most amazing discovery…it’s the most amazing bone I have found in all of my academic life”

Despite numerous calls from local councilors for an official community alert notice to be issued, Eddy Curtis, Director of Administration within the council has issued a statement reassuring the community of their continued safety: “We’d like to ensure all the residents, that the area is exceptionally safe and that if there is anything wrong at all, the council will implement its emergency plan.”  Infact, Mr Curtis even perceives the recent findings to be an opportunity for families to come to the mountain and investigate for themselves. He continues, “We hope to organize an event in the future, to hunt him out and see if there really is a Dragon in this area.”

The hunt for the suspected ‘Transilvainian Dragon’ continues, leading to further speculation that there may in fact be a “dragon event” happening very soon. Remember if you have any information please call the Ministry of Alternative Detectives on 028 3025 7885.
