Council Appoint New Atlantic CultureScape Suppliers

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council are delighted to have appointed two suppliers, Runda Travel LTD and Fourum LTD, to deliver training and facilitate tourism clusters as part of the Atlantic CultureScape project.  NMDDC lead on the Project which will develop Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) experiences that will boost sustainable tourism across the Atlantic Area.

Runda Travel LTD will be delivering a Tiered Tourism Training Programme for tourism providers and Ambassadors. The training will also be available for use by the six other Atlantic CultureScape partners across the Atlantic Area in Portugal, Spain, Southern Ireland and Wales. The three tiers that form the ICH focused training programme include a themed masterclass, business support mentoring and visitor experience presentation requirements. The training will provide the supporting skillset and knowledge required for the ICH providers to reach their target of developing industry ready sellable ICH tourism experiences.

Fourum LTD will be acting as a cluster facilitator alongside the training programme within NMDCC. The experienced facilitator will ensure cluster collaboration of the Atlantic CultureScape Projects ICH Providers. The cluster facilitation role will enable capacity building and allow the ICH cluster to reach their target of sellable ICH experiences.

Darren Rice, AONB and Geopark Manager adds, “This training will provide an invaluable opportunity for Newry, Mourne & Down ICH providers to empower themselves with the skills to market their experiences to visitors. This project will help to provide sustainable tourism experiences, and provide an economic incentive for quality ICH.”

Both suppliers are being funding through the Atlantic CultureScape project which is co-financed by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme through the European Regional Development Fund.
