Join ArtsEkta, one of Northern Ireland’s leading arts and cultural organisations, for 26 hours of workshops with groups exploring cultural celebrations from across the world. The training can but doesn’t have to, lead to an OCCNI Level 2 Award in learning through the Arts.
The workshops will focus on bringing cultures of the world to the group through visual arts, music or dance. At the end of the 26 hours of workshops, the group will then decide on what event they want to put on. The workshops will start as soon as there is a group interested to participate in the program.
Due to covid-19 circumstances, this programme will be delivered online (Zoom) and we are looking cross-community groups of 12-15 adults. In the Slieve Gullion DEA the recruitment process is still open, so if you know anyone who would like to learn about different cultures from around the globe without leaving the house they can contact Karolina Baldyga via email: [email protected].
The part of the program is dance workshops with dancers from China, Mexico, India and Poland. There are also art sessions with an artist from France, sound healing mindfulness session and more! Please spread the word about the project.
It is a great opportunity to spend long autumn evenings in a fun, creative way!
