Consultant Teacher to assist with School Heritage Guidebook – CLOSED

Posted on:

Working with a copy writer, we would like three local teachers to write a heritage guidebook for schools. We want to have a guidebook which covers the built, cultural, landscape and historical heritage of the area. OPAL (Open Air Laboratories) have produced biodiversity guides and we want this book to stand alongside them.

The book will link suitable fieldwork sites to relevant aspects of the KS2 and KS3 curricula. We want it to be a useful resource for teachers in local schools, enabling them to take pupils on safe and educational field trips.

We need three teachers for three days over the summer and we are offering £100 a day.

The book will be about 60 pages, containing around 15,000 words and cover a range of topics covering the aspects of local heritage, previously mentioned.
Tasks will include:
• Recommending suitable field trips sites
• Suggested activities for the sites
• Relevant curriculum links
• Suggesting relevant content for each site
• A suitable risk assessment format
• A suitable book layout

If you are interested, please send your CV to Alison using the email address below by 3rd July 2015. Please include any dates when you are unavailable. We will let the successful candidates know by 8th July 2015
