Back to Basics – Natural Skills Course

Posted on:

In our busy, technology filled world it is easy to become detached from our natural world and all the benefits brought by being outdoors. The Ring of Gullion Landscape Partnership is offering you the chance to change that with our Back to Basics course.

Join our experienced instructors to learn the skills of bush craft and foraging, everything you need to get close to nature in the great outdoors. The course will run every Saturday morning, 10am to 1pm, from 19th May to 7th July, with the exception of 23rd and 24th June when there is an overnight camp. For full details please download the timetable below (beneath the registration form).

The Back to Basics course is aimed at adults and will cost just £50, which covers all your training, a bush craft knife and a ferro rod, for you to keep. Volunteers who have built up over 75 hours volunteering with the Landscape Partnership will be offered this training for free, while those who have completed 35 hours will qualify for a 50% reduction in the fee. Registration is essential as places are limited, please only sign up if you can attend all or the majority of the sessions.

Please note: Your course place will only be secure once payment has been received. We can accept cash during office hours or cheques, made payable to Newry, Mourne & Down District Council, posted to:
