AONB Youth Ranger Programme 2022

Applications for the 2022 programme are open until 5pm on 18th Jan for Ring of Gullion Applications. Spaces for the Strangford and Lecale Programme are full. 

Are you aged between 14 and 17? Would you like the opportunity to learn outdoor adventure and practical conservation skills? Do you have a passion for the Ring of Gullion or Strangford and Lecale AONBs and the wider environment? Perhaps you would like to work in the environmental conservation field? Then this could be the opportunity for you.

14 to 17 year olds are invited to participate in the Ring of Gullion Landscape and the Strangford and Lecale AONB’s Youth Ranger programme. The Programme will run for four days in each of the AONBs. The Ring of Gullion and Strangford and Lecale, commencing on Saturday 22nd January in Ring of Gullion.

The programme will give you the opportunity to learn outdoor skills such as navigation and canoeing, whilst exploring the Ring of Gullion and Strangford and Lecale AONBs; learning about how it formed and its rich biodiversity and heritage. Most importantly of all, its an opportunity for you to learn practical conservation skills and contribute to the environmental management of the area.
