Lúnasa Festival – Wood Turning Workshop

Lúnasa Festival – Wood Turning Workshop

The ancient art of wood-turning is enjoying a revival, as people learn to appreciate the silky smooth texture and inner beauty of trees.  Learn the skills to reveal the whirling patterns of years of sunshine and rain, telling tales of hard winters and soft summers written in the glowing interior of your own handmade bowl. Each participant will start with a block of seasoned timber, they will be taught the skills and techniques of wood turning and will finish the day with a work of practical art to be displayed and used with pride. This workshop is being taught by Padraig Carragher at his woodturning studio in Mullaghbawn. Padraig is a member of ROGHA (Ring of Gullion, Handcrafts and Arts) and is a talented artist whose work can be seen in our on-line shop. The workshop costs £100 per person (this includes lunch) and booking is essential by ringing Padraig Carragher +353 876693393 or emailing [email protected]  Check out ROGHA’s facebook page here to see some of the group’s work.
