Volunteer Opportunity – Tidying the Red Squirrel Safari trail

Using hand tools to clear back overgrowing vegetation from the Red Squirrel Safari Trail.

The Red Squirrel Safari trail is in need of a bit of tender loving care. We are looking for volunteers to lend a hand cutting back over growing vegetation to keep the safari trail clear and open, using hand tools.

If the weather forecast is for sufficiently dry weather we may also treat the squirrel hides with wood preservatives.

You never know, we might get lucky and spot a red squirrel or two ourselves. All you need to bring with you is weather appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear (hiking boots are ideal) and a packed lunch.

We’ll be meeting by the black gates, leading from the main courtyard into the walled garden. There will be a short walk from the walled garden to the start of the squirrel safari trail.

Registration is essential.
