Virtual Summer Solstice Retreat for the Hospice

Virtual Summer Solstice Retreat for the Hospice

Solstice literally means light standing still.  This nurturing midsummer evening retreat is a perfect time to allow your mind and body to rest, especially at this challenging time.  This year the Summer Solstice falls on Saturday 20th June.

Reconnect with the healing gifts of nature during our virtual mindful walk within the haven of Slieve Gullion forest, led by Ann Ward, Meditation Coach and Shinrin-Yoku (forest-bathing) Practitioner.  The evening will include a healing white Solstice light meditation.

Rest during mindful eating and drinking practice with fresh summer strawberries and water infused with fresh lemon and lime.

Relax and unwind during a guided body scan.

All of the funds raised from this event will support the Southern Area Hospice Services to carry out vital services and care for people affected by Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and AIDS.

Special notes for guests

  • Choose a quiet space where you can sit and lie down for the retreat, a blanket and pillow for your comfort – you may want to light a candle and some incense and wear loose comfortable clothing to enhance the retreat experience
  • Please have a piece of nature to share during our introduction to this special evening
  • For our mindful eating and drinking session, prepare some fresh summer strawberries (or fruit of your choice) and water infused with fresh lemon and lime (herbal tea or drink of your choice, non-alcoholic!!)
  • On registering you will receive a unique zoom link for the event.
