Join our experienced hedge layer for a free two-day practical training course in hedge management and hedge laying techniques.
You will learn:
- The theory of planting a hedge you later intend to lay.
- Interim hedge maintenance.
- How to correctly lay and support a laid hedge.
- Safe tool usage and tool maintenance.
Hedge laying is a useful technique to learn as it keeps your hedge in good health and can be used to turn your hedge into a more formidable barrier as it closes over gaps; resulting from grazing or individual trees failing, keeping hedges stock proof.
The training will be taking place at the back of Glassdrumman Wood, and we will be meeting at the lay-by to the right of St. Brigid’s RC Church, Glassdrumman.
All tools and safety equipment will be provided, all you need to bring with you is weather appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear (ideally hiking boots) and a packed lunch.
Booking essential as places are limited.
