Sacred Sites of Killeavy Tour

Sacred Sites of Killeavy Tour
‘Walk in the footsteps of one of Ireland’s first female Saints..
Rest, reconnect and breathe in the spectacular panoramic view of Killeavy’
This special event will begin at Katie’s cottage, nestled at the foot of Slieve Gullion mountain, next door to Killeavy Old Churches. Enjoy a cup of tea and homemade shortbread and learn about the heritage of this beautiful cottage from host Malachy.
Ambassador & Holistic Tour Guide, Ann Ward has a deep personal connection with Killeavy as her Mother was born on the mountain, between the sacred sites. During the tour you will visit the 5th century church grounds, founded by Moninne, one of the first female saints in Ireland (who was Christened by St. Patrick). Ann will share stories on the history of this ancient place and you will experience the deep silence and palpable sense of peace within these sacred grounds.
Ann will then gently guide you up a meandering little path towards the pre-Christian well dedicated to Moninne. You will learn about Celtic healing rituals and the sacred significance of water.
Rest, reconnect and breathe in the spectacular panoramic view during a guided mindfulness meditation.
Special notes for guests: Please advise us of any health conditions, mobility issues and any special dietary requirements or any other needs. Wear warm, comfortable walking gear including walking boots. Bring a small rucksack, waterproofs, walking poles, (if possible), hat and gloves and an extra layer as we will be sitting and standing still during the guided meditations.
Please note that this event is dependent on the latest Government Covid 19 guidelines and the ascent up to the well is weather dependent to ensure your comfort and safety.
Cost is £20 and booking is essential.
