Opening of AONB Photography Competition 2019

Opening of AONB Photography Competition 2019

The management teams the Ring of Gullion, the Mournes and Strangford and Lecale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs) are launching a new joint Photography Competition for the month of September to highlight the beauty of these special areas.

The teams are inviting young and old amateur photographers to submit their digital photographs to the competition. The theme for this year’s competition is “The Landscape I Love”, which photographers are free to interpret any way they choose. This could be our Built, Cultural or even Natural Heritage. Photographers can share some of their great memories of a day out in the AONBs or some of the wildlife, they have been lucky to encounter on their travels in the area.

The 2 categories are under 14’s and over 14’s. We would encourage teachers and parents to get children under 14 out and about with their cameras before the deadline. Only photos taken in the AONBs will be accepted.

Photographs entered in the competition will be displayed in  AONB events over the course of the year. This fantastic amateur photography competition is a great way to showcase the skills of local photographers and the outstanding qualities of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty(AONBs).

It is simple to enter the competition, click here.

Deadline Monday 30th September 2019 5.00pm.

The event is part of the Mourne Gullion Strangford proposed UNESCO Global Geopark activity Programme
