Join Meditation Coach and Shinrin Yoku Practitioner, Ann Ward, on International Stress Awareness week for the beginning of this stress intervention programme. Ann will support you to develop mindfulness tools which can be easily integrated into your everyday life. You will learn how to use your natural resources of the breath, the body and the senses to ground you in the present moment.
Experience the benefits of forest bathing during a two-hour forest immersion. These include boosting mood, energy, immunity and sleep, reduction of stress hormones, supporting cardiovascular health and stress reduction.
Throughout the duration of the course, you will learn about the many physical, emotional and spiritual benefits of meditation. We will explore a range of meditation techniques to:
- develop your skills in mindfulness and a meditation practice;
- create a personal meditation space at home or away;
- use nature and the evidence-based wellness practice of forest bathing; and
- be able to use meditation to support sustained positive improvements to your holistic health and well-being.
We will explore mindful breathing, walking, eating and cooking practice. Ann will introduce you to the benefits of forest bathing and how to connect with nature through your senses during our forest immersion.
For your homework each week you will be asked to practice a daily activity mindfully and to practice a meditation technique. You will be encouraged to keep a personal journal to record any insights on your meditation journey.
The course will include a practical toolkit to help you sustain your practice.
Notes for participants: Please wear warm comfortable clothes. Bring a pillow, blanket and yoga mat. Water will be provided.
The course will take place on Wednesday evenings, however course participants will agree on a suitable Saturday morning for their forest bathing experience.
