Join the Ring of Gullion team and Woody for a nest box building workshop as part of National Nest Box Week.
Attendees will get a chance to make their own nest box and bird feed to bring home and use.
National Nest Box Week takes places from 14-21 February 2020 and it’s a chance for you to encourage birds in your garden to come home to roost! The idea behind the week is to get us all to put up nest boxes in our local areas, not only to protect the wildlife we already have, but to encourage even more birds to brood in our backyards!
Natural nest sites for birds such as holes in trees or old buildings are disappearing fast as gardens are ‘tidied’ and old houses are repaired. Taking part in NNBW gives you the chance to contribute to bird conservation whilst giving you the pleasure of observing any breeding birds that you attract to your nest box.
One nest box per family/ group to take away.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
This is a free event supported by Newry Mourne and Down District Council and Northern Ireland Environment Agency. This event is organised by Mourne Gullion Strangford Aspiring UNESCO Global Geopark.
