Lúnasa Festival 2019 – Gap o’ the North Walk

Enjoy a historical walk back through time. Visit ancient and current monuments of the Christian era.

You will be led on this journey by Venora, a Ring of Gullion Ambassador, and Seamus a local historian. During your walk you will learn about the historical importance of this area in the 1600’s and its impact on present day history. We visit Faughart graveyard,  Moyry Castle and the Kilnasaggart stone, developing a fascinating and humorous insight into both the spiritual and historical history of this area.

The walk begins at Faughart graveyard and will take you along roads with some grassland sections the walk is roughly 4 miles long and mostly downhill. It takes 2.5 hours finishing at Kilnasaggart. Return transport will be provided to Faughart. Sturdy walking shoes or runners recommended. Suitable for children over 6 years; parental supervision essential. Regretfully no dogs.

Cost: £10 – book via Eventbrite
