Introduction to Mindfulness – One-day course

 

Through the gift of meditation, Ann shares practical, portable techniques on how to manage stress in today’s busy world. The course includes a mindfulness toolkit.

This restorative day is ideal for anyone new to meditation or to help reinvigorate your practice.  Throughout the day you will learn how to anchor yourself in the present moment using the natural resources of your breath, your body and your senses.

Sensory development will be through mindful eating/drinking practice and during our mindful walk in Slieve Gullion forest.

We will explore:

  • the benefits of meditation to holistic health and well being;
  • the link between meditation, forest therapy and stress management;
  • and the scientific evidence to support the practice.

Ann teaches a secular practice drawn from a number of ancient traditions and contemporary sources including the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh and other famous exponents of mindfulness such as Jon Kabat-Zinn and Sharon Salzberg.
