Musicians across Ulster are preparing for a busy summer as the Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann 2019 County Fleadhanna get into full swing. Ring of Gullion CCE are pleased to announce that they will host this year’s Fleadh Ard Mhacha (Armagh Fleadh).
The county Fleadhanna presents excellent opportunities for musicians of all ages to participate and showcase their unique musical talent whilst each County has a colourful itinerary that will be enjoyable for visitors far and wide.
This festival of music , song , dance and storytelling etc. will showcase the very best of traditional Irish culture that South Armagh has to offer. Situated in the picturesque Ring of Gullion, Forkhill and Mullaghbawn are the idyllic venues to host the family friendly and culture rich Fleadh festival. With a packed itinerary of competitions, session trails and events throughout the weekend, most of which are free of charge and open to the public.
The Fleadh will open on Friday the 24th May with a concert in Mullaghbawn CLG with a performance by renowned Fiddle Player Zoe Conway, followed by Fleadh competitions on Saturday in Forkhill Primary School.
There will be music sessions in the Welcome Inn and Larkins pubs and Forkhill CLG on Saturday afternoon and evening and the Fleadh will officially close on Sunday with a singing session in the Welcome Inn, Forkhill.
