Summer Solstice Community Celebration

Event takes place on June 21, 2019

Join An Tobar CIC at Finnegan's Nursery Silverbridge on Friday 21st June for a wonderful line-up of fun activities for all the community. Their itinerary will run from 11am to 9pm, including local music, story-telling and craic. Taster sessions in mindfulness and laughter yoga. Arts and crafts. Tours of their community gardens and walks in Brian's Wood.

Ceol na Croise -Léacht le Dr. Gearóid Trimble – The Gaelic Singers of Crossmaglen – Their lives and their songs with Dr. Gearóid Trimble

Event takes place on July 25, 2019

With original transcripts, recordings and contributions from local singers throughout, this talk will bring the audience back to a Crossmaglen of over one hundred years ago where its local Gaelic singers provided unique songs and renditions that told the story of their own locality and people in their native tongue.

Event takes place on August 3, 2019 until August 7, 2019

Explore the highlights of Slieve Gullion mountain and take in the impressive scenery of the Ring of Gullion on this lazy galivant over and around, Slieve Gullion mountain. Local guides will delight you with stories of the mountain from its ancient origins to its modern human history; including tales of the Ulster hero Cú Chulainn and how the US Army used the mountain for training before deployment in WWII. There is so much history to be discovered; and all without having to hike up the mountain.

Lúnasa Festival 2019 – Geotastic Extravaganza

Event takes place on August 17, 2019

Dinosaurs are coming alive at Slieve Gullion! A T-Rex and Velociraptor have been spotted prowling around the Walled Garden. Are you brave enough to track them down? Come to Gullion to learn about dinomite dinosaurs, vicious volcanoes, earth-shattering earthquakes and other wonders of the our planet. You can even get your picture taken with Roary (the T-Rex) and Red (the Raptor) ... if you're brave enough!

Lúnasa Festival 2019 – A Wander Through the Centuries

Event takes place on August 20, 2019

Join local historian, Kevin Murphy, for a leisurely walk, meandering around the townlands surrounding the village of Mullaghbane. Along the way you'll beer into holes in every hedge to unearth the story of the last six thousand years. It was the poet Art Mac Binead, buried in the local graveyard, who said that in this are you could, "kick any stone and history leaps up at you." Come along and you'll "kick stones" for about three hours.
