Newry, Mourne and Down District Council are running a number of courses for local people during the autumn and winter months:
Recreational Dress Making; BTEC Level 2 Award - Working as a door supervisor in the private security industry; Recreational Art Class; Well time for Me; Jewellery Making; Preparation for Floral Design - NAFAS Level 1 Certificate; Fascinator Making and Geneaology - Tracing your family tree.

Feeding your Senses this Autumn

Event takes place on September 21, 2019 until November 9, 2019

Experience a gentle mindful walk on the slopes of Feede mountain and learn about the powerful holistic benefits of ‘forest-bathing’. Connect with the landscape, history and stories listening to tales of legendary warriors like Cú Chulainn and the Flurry Valley. Forest Bathing for Stress Prevention

Event takes place on November 5, 2019

Join Meditation Coach and Shinrin Yoku practitioner, Ann Ward  from Xhale, for a special Shinrin Yoku (Forest Bathing) event for International Stress Awareness Week within the nurturing haven of Slieve Gullion Forest. Forest Bathing is an evidence-based stress prevention intervention, introduced in the 1980’s in Japan.

Mindfulness for Stress Management six-week course

Event takes place on November 6, 2019 until December 11, 2019

Join Meditation Coach and Shinrin Yoku Practitioner Ann Ward on International Stress Awareness week for the beginning of this stress intervention programme. Ann will support you to develop mindfulness tools which can be easily integrated into your everyday life.

You will learn how to use your natural resources of the breath, the body and the senses to ground you in the present moment. Experience the benefits of forest bathing during a two-hour forest immersion.

The course will include a practical toolkit to help you sustain your practice.
