Celtic Footsteps

Event takes place on May 4, 2019

Walk in the footsteps of one of Ireland's first female saints. This experience begins with a restorative mindful walk in Slieve Gullion Forest, followed by a rest for refreshments in a quirky Second World War hut. Feel the sacred stillness at the sites of Killeavy Churches, founded in 450 by St. Moninne. Follow an ancient path up to a pre-Christian holy well. Connect with the panoramic landscape below through a guided mindfulness meditation. Relax at a food artisan’s cottage and immerse yourself in a sensory food experience. This is the perfect slow adventure where you will feel restored, re-connected and re-energised. You will leave with the gifts of meditation and a jar of award winning lemon curd jam!

In celebration of GeoWeek, the Ring of Gullion Landscape Partnership is offering a geology tour with a difference - an electric bike exploration of Slieve Gullion mountain. Our E-Bike Exploration is a unique opportunity to explore the landscape of Slieve Gullion mountain from bike saddle without the extreme exertion it usually takes to cycle up a mountainside - though peddling is still required.
