As part of the Annual Famine Commemorations this is a series of events focusing on the loss of the “Hannah”, a famine ship with strong local links to the Ring of Gullion and most particularly the parish of Forkhill from whence came many of the passengers on the fateful voyage ending in the tragedy on the iceflows of the Gulf of St Lawrence. This the last event in the series is a cross community service in memory of those who died during the Famine years in the Newry Workhouse.
